Network of Investment Promotion Agencies
The government of the Philippines created a network of Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) to diversify locational offerings and obtain the best return on capital for prospective investors.
The prevalence of network of IPAs play an integral role in a broader economic strategy, maximizing the advantages inherent to a given location while contributing to the overall development objectives of the country. A carefully branched out network expands choices and creates a framework to ensure that investors are appropriately protected wherever they locate, guarding their investments and reducing risk. This comprehensive framework for investment simplifies investment procedures while streamlining rules and procedures to improve business linkages and overall national competitiveness. The set-up provides significant opportunities for diversification and business growth. All of these IPAs were created by laws enacted by the Philippine Congress and signed by the President of the Philippines. Each IPA is a government office which registers and grants incentives to investments in their respective areas of jurisdiction. All IPAs converge in the Philippine Investment Priorities Program. |
